Your Support and Our Mission
Where It Goes
TWBW operates on a small staff, which means that more of your generous donations directly fund our programs by providing building materials, tools, shop supplies, student snacks, and covering other program expenses. All of our youth programs are offered an no cost to families, so your donations are vital to our mission as we reach out to Hampton Roads' disconnected and at-risk youth to provide positive STEM and life skills education. Contributions are deductible under section 170 of the Internal Revenue Code. A TWBW financial Statement is available upon written request from the commonwealth of Virginia Office of Charitable and Regulatory Programs.
We also rely on our local volunteers to assist in our programs. We aim to keep around 20 active volunteers per session, and we are always looking for new faces to join us. Woodworking experience is helpful, but not required to volunteer with us. We do, however, require all volunteers to pass a background check and ask that they be available for at least one session per month. Fill out the form at the bottom of this page to apply.

Tidewater Wooden Boat Workshop relies on the contributions of our amazing supporters! Local non-profits, foundations, and generous individuals makes our dream of youth development through boatbuilding a reality. We are deeply appreciative to everyone who contributes money, time and energy! Together we are making a difference in the lives of youths here in Hampton Roads.
